5 Random Questions with Kara A Kennedy, author of I Will Never Leave You

In my August newsletter (catch up HERE if you missed it) I asked Kara A Kennedy all about her supernatural YA thriller debut, I Will Never Leave You, where Maya has always been able to see ghosts, but when the ghost of her toxic ex, Alana, turns up and refuses to leave, Maya will need to find a way to make their break-up more permanent. I loved this spooky and highly original thriller, and loved learning all the behind-the-scenes info about the book. After that, I had to find out more about the author herself…

Have you ever had a celebrity encounter?

Yes! I used to work at Universal Studios Hollywood and met a bunch of people there, the most notable and exciting being Emma Watson. The cast of the Shadowhunters TV show came in once and I talked to them for awhile while trying not to absolutely freak out.

Other than writing, what’s your dream job?

As a kid, I wanted to be a meteorologist, but then I realized I’d need to know math.

You have one hour to hide a body. What are you going to do?

Call my fiancee. She’d know what to do.

You’ve got 5 minutes to prepare to go on a TV talent show. What will you perform onstage?

My Hamlet monologue I’ve had memorized since AP English.

Have you ever had your fortune told, and did it come true?

A fortune teller at a renaissance faire correctly predicted, in detail, how I would do in Pitch Wars back in 2021. At the time, I figured it was totally fake, but she was exactly right. It gives me the creeps to think about!
