In the Halloween issue of my newsletter (catch up HERE if you missed it) I interviewed Logan-Ashley Kisner about his debut YA horror, Old Wounds, in which trans teens Max and Erin get trapped in a creepy, small town where the locals are determined to sacrifice them to the local monster – which only eats girls. This was a brilliant horror novel, putting a fresh spin on lots of the tropes I love most, so naturally I wanted to know more about the author himself.
Enter the 5 Random Questions!
What was your favourite book as a teen?
Either the Series of Unfortunate Events series or anything Rick Riordan wrote from the years 2005-2014.
What’s your go-to Halloween costume?
I’ve had the same Freddy Krueger sweater from Hot Topic since I was 18, and I haven’t let it go yet!
You have a magic ticket to spend one day anywhere in the world. Where will you go?
Assuming language and safety weren’t a barrier, I’ve always wanted to visit Armenia (family roots!)
Do you have any unusual habits?
I love lemon-filled donuts, but I have to eat the filling first. It grosses out every person I’ve ever eaten a donut around.
What will you be reading this Halloween?
My TBR pile is ridiculous, but I’m hoping to either get my hands on Kara Thomas’ The Champions or Chuck Tingle’s Camp Damascus.
